Road to HanaThe Hana Highway, or 'The Road to Hana' is the only road to Hana, and passes through Pa'ia, Kaanae, Nahiku, Hana and Kipahulu. The road twists through rainforests and open land, revealing lush tropical foliage, natural waterfalls and pools, caves, and rocky sea cliffs. There are very few sandy beaches here, but the scenic ocean view here is unparalleled. East Maui temperatures average between 68 - 83 degrees in the summer and 64 - 80 degrees in the winter. Average rainfall in East Maui is 6 inches in the summer and 7 inches in the winter.

Ho'okipa Lava PointFamous for its typically large surf, the beach here is a favorite for surfers and windsurfers alike. The lava point stretches out far into the Pacific offering gorgeous views and spectacular sunrise and sunset scenery. This location is generally very windy and requires a small hike down a rocky trail, making it perfect for the adventurer seeking something different. |
